Spring & Summer 2025 Trends We Love (and Some We’re Leaving Behind)

Spring & Summer 2025 Trends We Love (and Some We’re Leaving Behind)

What’s Hot & What’s Not – Spring/Summer Fashion & Beauty for 40+ Women
Welcome to A Holistic Dose – your go-to podcast for big ideas, micro-dosed without the B.S.
Hosted by Tiffany & Jeanette

Spring has officially sprung, and that means it’s time to refresh, realign, and maybe retire some of those fashion and beauty habits that no longer serve us—hello chunky highlights, we’re looking at you 👀.

In this week’s episode, we kick things off with a fun game:
We each take a stroll down memory lane, tossing out trends from the past to see if the other would: ✅ Still wear it
🚫 Absolutely not
🎉 Only to a theme party

Cue the throwbacks: logo mania, blue mascara, glitter body gel (yep, that’s back on TikTok), double denim, cargo pants, chunky highlights, bell bottoms, and more.

So… is it timeless or should we leave it in the early 2000s?

Topic 1: Should We Still Follow Fashion Trends in Our 30s and 40s?

Short answer? Only if we want to.

We talk about how to look modern without trying to dress like we’re 22, and why it’s perfectly okay if you still love hair bows (Tiffany does!). This season, we visited Nordstrom for a personalized styling session and had some opinions—from giddy over gingham to unsure about the return of the tube top.

What’s In for Spring & Summer 2025 (And Works for Women 40+)

Here are some of the styles we actually love:

  • Wide-Leg Linen Trousers – Cool, breathable, and polished. Grown woman summer activated.

  • Oversized Blazers + Mini Dresses – We love this playful mix of coverage and confidence.

  • Barrel Jeans & Alternative Denim Cuts – Let’s talk about denim that isn’t skinny or scary.

  • Boho Revival (Think Chloe) – Flowy, sheer, lace. Perfect for brunch and beach days.

  • Tenniscore 2.0 – Pleated skirts, chic sneakers, crisp polos. Just say yes.

  • Statement Flats – Because comfort is queen. Our faves: embellished flats, slingbacks, and the surprisingly stylish orthotic brands (shoutout to Aetrex and Sofft).

  • Artful Accessories – Sculptural jewelry that starts conversations. Pro tip: introverts, wear a statement piece—it’s a magnet for connection.

Trends We’re Politely Retiring (Especially for 40+ Style Confidence)

We’re not saying you can’t wear these… but we are saying maybe it’s time:

  • Chunky Dad Sneakers – Sleeker silhouettes are having a moment.

  • Fast Fashion Everything – We talk about how to spot it, why it matters, and how secondhand can be sexy.

  • Cold-Shoulder Tops & Tunic Kimonos – They’ve had their day.

  • Fitted Denim Jackets – We still love them… but maybe in a new cut.

  • Mesh Ballet Flats & Mega Logos – Style > status this year.

Topic 2: Aging Gracefully—Beauty & Skincare Trends That Are Actually Worth It

We get into the nitty-gritty (and the glow-up):

  • Botox, Lip Filler & The Secret Sauce – Do you tell people you get it? Tiffany shares a dating story that spirals into a wild theory about why some men can’t handle emotionally evolved women. 😂

  • Slugging: Skincare Miracle or Vaseline Disaster?

  • Hair Aging Real Talk: Grey hair, hair loss, extensions, and whether you really need 10 products or just 3 that work.

  • Overwhelmed by Skincare? Jeanette’s a skincare junkie, Tiffany’s low-key drowning. Either way, we’re breaking it down.

A Holistic Dose for Spring/Summer 2025

Fashion-wise, this season is all about comfort, proportion, and personality. You don’t need to chase trends—you can choose them. The best styles are the ones that reflect where you are now.

Beauty-wise, we’re embracing a glow that comes from within and from smart, simple skincare. Aging gracefully doesn’t mean aging quietly.

🎧 Listen in for style inspo, real talk, and a little sparkle (not the body glitter kind... unless it’s theme party approved).
